Okay, so I got out of work late tonight and I was eager to get home to dinner and wife. Spirited drive home! Unfortunately, I got a little too spirited on my drive. As I was nearing the end of my drive I smelled something burning. Uh oh. So when I got home, I popped the hood and something was glowing in the darkness like two Christmas lights!

Turns out, a vacuum hose got too close to the exhaust manifold and was severed in half from the intense heat. So intense that it left it glowing red hot for several minutes after I shut down.

Red hot! ^That's what it looked like in the dark.

Jeez, I gotta go easy on my beast. Sometimes I really do drive him like I stole him.

Be glad you have no fuel or oil leaks in that area!

A.I.R. pipe or something?

Melting metal parts of your car without causing a fire and burning the whole damn thing to the ground!

Now you know where to put that cold sammich during long camping trips. For just 20 minutes, that is.

I said 20 minutes, but it could be a lot less. And the slightly charred cover will just add that authentic barbeque flavor anyway.
